Synchronize
A manufacturing order structure can be synchronized at several levels. This also applies to configured manufacturing orders and manufacturing orders using alternate preparation. You will see the result of the synchronization under the Synchronization tab. Below you will see the rules that apply to synchronization.
Example 1
In a structure (as in the example below) you can, at one and the same time, synchronize modifications made in the preparation with the manufactured parts M-M7.
Example 1:
This applies when no part on an underlying manufacturing order has reached status > 2. It is not possible to synchronize down in the structure when a level has been started (status > 2). It is possible to synchronize up in the structure when a level has been started and thereby load operations and material. However, you cannot remove operations and material on a started level.
Example 2
In the section where M6 has been started you cannot synchronize modifications made in the preparation on operations and material with the manufactured parts M7 - M8.
Part M4 that lies up in the structure cannot be removed using the synchronization. However, in part M4 you can remove operations and material that do not affect part M6. You can also add operations and material to part M4.
If you want to synchronize modifications that have been stopped by the rules, you can instead use the procedure called Adding / Replanning. There you can perform synchronization level by level.
In the second section where part M6 has not been started, any modifications made in the preparation on operations and parts will be synchronized with the parts M4, M7 and M8.
Example 2:
Changing Part Type
The rules above also apply when changing part type on a part in the structure. This means that as long as nothing has been started you can change part type.
- Changing part type from M to F - The part will disappear from the structure and the incorporated operations and material will be moved to the higher level.
- Changing part type from F to M - The part will be added to the structure and the operations and material that belong to the part will become operations and material to the M-part.
