Table with paths

In the left table you add paths to the folders on the MONITOR server or file server from which the users should be able to copy files. In the right table you see the files and sub-folders that you can link in the path. In the Linked column you see if the file is linked to a record in the system. If there are linked files in a path, it cannot be deleted.

By using the buttons on the function menu you can add and delete paths. However, you cannot delete a path as long as there are linked files in the path.

Path

Here you enter/select file paths. You can either enter the path manually or use the file dialog to the right of the field to browse your way to the path.

If you click the Browse button, you can either choose Local path on MONITOR server or UNC path.

You only select a local path if you are working locally on the MONITOR server and the paths to the files are located on the same computer. When you have added a local path, a warning appears next to the path in the left table. The warning informs you that access to local paths is determined by the Windows account on the MONITOR server.

If you select UNC path, you must first enter the name of the file server as "\\servername" and then press Tab or Enter. You can then select among the shared folders on the file server in question.

In networks, we recommend that you use UNC paths when you add paths. This is to ensure that all users can access the paths in the network. The Windows account on the MONITOR server must also be able to access the paths in those cases you enter a path that is located on another a file server (for example NAS) in the network.

Name

Here you see/enter the name that is displayed when linking files. The suggested name is loaded from the loaded folder. However, this can be changed. You can for example enter "Images" as a name for a path to an image folder.

Active

Here you determine if the path is active. Only files in active paths can be selected when linking files. If you no longer want to use a path, you can uncheck this box in order to deactivate the path. Then this path cannot be used when linking files.
