Calculate mean price

This procedure is used to calculate an alternate average purchase price for purchased parts called Mean price. The mean price is calculated manually in this procedure and is more dynamic since it is based on a selectable number of purchases made within an entered time interval. Rows from credit invoices, canceled invoices, and deleted deliveries are excluded from the mean price calculation.

The list is based on part data, arrival data, stock transaction log, and invoice data.

The price used in the list is loaded from the stock transaction log. The price is saved in the stock transaction log upon arrival and can be updated when final recording the supplier invoice. Parts which are not stock updated do not create a record in the stock transaction log. The price is loaded from the purchase order for these parts up until the supplier invoice is final recorded.

Start the calculation when you have loaded the list, checked the selection of purchase orders, and, if needed, deselected purchase orders that you do not want to include in the calculation. Check if there are any warnings in the list before you save. If the list is long, you might need to scroll. When you save, the mean price will be saved to the parts.

It is important to understand what the different prices on parts mean and for what they are used. Read more about this in the chapter called Explanation of part prices.
