Work Flow

Decide whether you want to estimate the Annual volume, calculate Loading or both. The calculations are then based on one of the options under Load annual volume from. Select any additional parameters for the option that you are loading your annual volume from.

Please note. For the alternatives Annual volume, Sales forecast, Order backlog and Annual budget under Load annual volume from, the program performs a structure explosion (breakdown) according to the preparation, which means that the system will calculate an annual volume also for the incorporated parts, even if they were not included under the Create tab. You should therefore be careful to include, in the same calculation, both a main part of a structure as well as an incorporated part in the same structure. This calculation would mean that the system will calculate two requirements for the same part, and it will add them and present them as a total annual volume. This would only be correct if, for example, the incorporated parts are sold separately as spare parts, which would give an increased annual volume for these parts. If you, during the preparation, have configured terms for incorporated operations or material for a part (so-called "alternate preparation"), this will also affect the result. Read more about how terms and conditions affect this procedure under Alternate Preparations and Estimate Annual Volume.

Load a list over the selected parts using Display List under Window functions. This is actually an "intermediate" or middle step in the process. Before the calculation / explosion starts, you can both exclude selected parts, and get the program to create the calculation based on another annual volume than the suggested one. You do this by unchecking the column Include, and changing the values in the Annual volume column.

You start the calculation by clicking Run in the Window functions.

Result

After performing an Estimate annual volume, you can see the results in a new list, and save this information to the basic data of the respective parts. Before this, you can choose to exclude certain parts in the Save column, or manually change the calculated value in the New annual volume column, and then execute save by clicking Save in the Window functions.

You can filter and sort the range of parts in the result list for Annual volume, and you can also print it. Under the Preview tab, you can preview the list to see what it would look like if printed.

If you selected Calculate loading under the Create tab, you can load the result list for the loading calculation. Once a loading calculation has been run, the system will present the planned times and costs per work center in a new list under the Loading tab. In order to calculate the batch quantity, the program has also loaded the EOQ from the parts' basic data. The calculated times cannot be saved, they can only be printed. Any subcontracts are indicated in italic fonts, and will only appear with their respective costs.
