The Accounting module in MONITOR contains procedures used for the accounting processes in the system. However, there are also a few procedures under General in the Global Settings module that concern the accounting.
In the Accounting module you will find procedures related to how the system manages registers for the accounting, for example Chart of Accounts and Accrual Accounting. You will also find day-to-day procedures such as Register Vouchers, Print General Ledger, Print Journal and Report Generator. The accounting also includes project accounting procedures and budget procedures. Another sub-module contains different year-end procedures, for example Switch Year and Periodic Statement. The Fixed Asset Register is a supplement, where you register the company's fixed assets and calculate depreciations.
It is possible to fully integrate ledgers/accounting orders from the Purchase and Sales modules into the Accounting. The integration can either take place directly or you can select to check before integration. Then you can modify the ledger before it is approved and transferred to the accounting.
The Accounting module contains a number of sub-modules, under which you can find all the procedures. These are:
Registers
Here you manage registration and printouts of the accounts in the Chart of Accounts, register cost centers and cost units and also register accrual accounting and automatic coding, etc. If you use the supplement Management Accounting the procedures Update Coding Method and Coding Method List are also available.
Current Accounting
Contains procedures that are used in the current day-to-day accounting. Apart from voucher registration and printing journals and ledgers, you will also find the Report Generator procedure, which is a powerful tool used to print balance sheets and income statements. In that procedure you can also create your own customized reports (customer specific). If you use the supplement Management Accounting the procedures Posterior Coding, Print Log Ledger and Search Management Accounting are also available.
Projects
Here you will find procedures used for project accounting such as: Register Project, Project Journal and Project General Ledger etc.
Budget / Forecast
Here you manage registering and printing of budgets and forecasts. Apart from registering these at the account level, you can also register them per cost center and cost unit.
Switch Year / Period
Contains procedures that are mainly used for year-end closings.
Fixed Assets
A complete Fixed Asset Register that is used for registration and depreciation of the company's different fixed assets.
