Fax Integration

The MONITOR Fax Integration supplement integrates different fax programs with the form printouts in MONITOR. Principles and settings used for these functions are described below.

ClosedFax Integration

When using the fax integration there is support for four different fax programs for form printouts in MONITOR. These fax programs are:

The fax integration feature provides you with a very rational printout management for most of the forms that are sent to customers and suppliers.

The difference between a standard printout to a fax program and a printout to a fax program using fax integration, is that when using the fax integration the recipient's fax number, reference and fax number is loaded from an order or similar document to the fax printout. This takes place via DDE.

In the fax number field in the main view of e.g. an order, the default fax number will be loaded from the first reference row on the supplier/customer when registering a new order. But it is also possible to select a number from the other references or change it manually in the field.

When using the fax integration, you also have the opportunity to select an order interval, so that you can print and send several orders at the same time, even when sending printouts to different recipients. Furthermore, when using fax integration, you no longer have to select the recipient from the fax program's address book every time you send a fax printout, since this information is loaded directly from the order.

ClosedFax Printout Using Fax Integration

Before you can use the fax integration feature in MONITOR, you must install a fax client program on the computer that is running MONITOR. Then you must make sure that the program is started on your computer. The following example concerns order printouts.

  1. For document printouts in the relevant printout procedures, please check the Fax box.
  2. Select the order number/numbers that you want to fax. Click on Preliminary selection and then also Preview to check the order/orders before you send them. Otherwise you have no other chance of canceling a possibly incorrect printout, unless you delete it in the fax client program itself.
  3. If the order/orders are correct, click on Print.
  4. In the printout dialog box, choose the fax printer and click OK. (The printout will now take place directly, without requiring that you select any fax recipients from the fax client's address book.)
  5. Please check in the fax client that all your faxes have been added to the send queue, and that they are sent correctly, before you confirm the printout by clicking OK in that printout procedure (form check).
