General

This section is used to enter different kinds of general information for each tool group.

Contains Entities

This field applies only to Special tools and Measuring tools. If a tool belonging to either of these two tool groups should contain several entities, you must check this box. Furthermore, a tool that contains several entities can only have one as its quantity, one stock location per entity and one withdrawal per entity in the system. Tools that contain entities are given a consecutive number that appears after the tool number.

Unit

Select the unit that will apply to tools in this tool group. You create units in the Units procedure, which can be found under Tables | Global Settings.

Tool Code

Enter an optional tool code that will apply to tools in this tool group. This can later be used as a selection or sorting option in different lists.

Product Group

This is where you select the product group to which the tool group should belong. This product group applies to tool acquisition, that is, purchase orders with row type 9 and type 1 (acquisition) as well as tool sales, if any. You create product groups in the Product Groups procedure, which can be found under Tables | Global Settings.
