The Start Direct Work Mode

Choose the Start direct work or Change direct work to open the Start direct work mode. Here the operator can select which operations to start, and then start the selected work using the Execute button.

You can select work in three ways. Either via the Report number button (which also will display the check box Select via ord. no.) or via the button Prio. plan (priority plan). You can also batch record operations with the timing code Distribute as per pre-calculation.

Not order-bound direct work is started via the Not order-bound button (Not o-b.). Direct work can be placed on standby. Restarting of a work item on standby is done in the Start Direct Work mode.

Please see the help chapter for Work Recording for more information regarding how to start work. The Update Employee procedure contains settings that affect how each employee can start work:

Always select work from - This setting determines which of the three methods of selecting order-bound work will be the default method when the operator will start work. However, the operator can change work manually.
WC to select work from. - This setting determines from which work centers the operator can select operations. The setting works in the following way: As soon as a work center is entered, the employee's rights will be limited to only that work center. If no work centers are entered, the employee can freely choose work via report numbers, without any limitations. However, no work centers will be shown when selecting work via Priority Plan. Yes, No or Default which is entered in the "Print in Priority Plan" field in the Update Employee procedure, determines which work centers that will be available to be selected from the Priority plan. The No alternative can be used to allow work to be selected from the work center via Report number or Order number, but not via Priority plan.
