The Card Codes... Button

By using the Card codes... button you can enter a number of characters that will be be linked to the employee, and which can be used when recording instead of the employee number. Enter the code using the keyboard, or place the cursor in the field and pull a magnetic card through a card reader, if you have one. Once the code has been entered, the number of * symbols in the field go back to five symbols. You can enter several card numbers for an employee and enter a valid through date per card number. Please note that you cannot enter the same card number that already has been entered for another employee. You will see the sign # on the button if one or several card codes have been entered.

You can configure a setting under the Workshop Info tab in the Settings procedure in the Global Settings module or in the Terminal Settings procedure to only allow recording using a card code. In that case, the employee number can no longer be used to enter the recording terminal. The advantage of using this system is increased security. By limiting access, you prevent other employees from recording for someone else using their employee number. It also prevents employees from accessing information about someone else via the recording terminal.

Letters used in the card codes are automatically saved as capital letters.
