In order to manage packaging parts, such as Pallets and Smallboxes, you must configure a system setting called Manage packaging as an extra part type?, under the section called Packaging under the Settings tab in the Settings procedure. If you have activated this setting you can manage packaging parts as an extra part type (G), and link packaging parts to other parts.
This field will then be available for manufactured, stocked, fictitious and purchased parts. Here you can enter the part number of a packaging part, that will then be linked to this part. This field is therefore not required for packaging parts.
You can also enter the packaging part’s part number as customer-specific under the heading Customer links.
