How Do I Use the Help Function?

Help that is included in MONITOR

You can open the Help function in MONITOR in three different ways:

  1. Via Help in the Window menu. Here you will find several options to open the Help function and you can also find information regarding the MONITOR system in question.
  2. Via the Help button under the Window functions. This is a context-sensitive help that will open the introductory help section for the procedure in question.
  3. Via the function button F1 (or Shift+F1) on your keyboard. This is the same context-sensitive help for the procedure in question as in item 2.

You access the help function in MONITOR either locally or as a web based help. You find the setting for this under the Miscellaneous tab under Settings | Customize... on the Window menu. Web based help requires that your computer has access to the Internet.

Company Adapted Instructions

You can as a complement create your own company adapted instructions in the Update Instruction procedure under Document Viewing in Global Settings. The purpose of this procedure is to be able to create your own procedure descriptions or guides for the users, of how to use the different procedures in MONITOR.

You should open the Update Instruction procedure when the procedure in question (for which you want to create an instruction) is active. After you have saved the instruction the Instruction button will appear under Window functions for the affected procedure.

You can then open the instruction for the current procedure in three different ways:

  1. Via Help and Instructions on the Window menu.
  2. By using the Instruction button under the Window functions.
  3. By using Ctrl+F1 on the keyboard.
