The database in MONITOR contains a table called EDI Data which is used during import and export of EDI messages. The MEDI program imports and exports EDI messages via this table. MONITOR then uses the EDI Data procedure in the Global Settings module to monitor and maintain the incoming and outgoing EDI messages in this table.
You should normally not have to use EDI Data unless you need to modify something in an EDI message that has been imported or will be exported.
Purging of EDI Data
The items in the EDI data table can increase very rapidly when using EDI import and export. This will negatively affect the performance of the EDI links. That is why we recommend purging the table regularly, preferably every 2-3 weeks. You can purge EDI Data in the Purging Procedures procedure in the Global Settings module. In this procedure, you should purge the table called EDI Messages.
If the EDI data table already contains thousands of items, we recommend that you purge the table when no users are working in the system.
