Queue Time

Queue times are used in lead time calculations during manufacturing order registration. The queue time affects the "gap" between the first, second and third operation etc. The queue time is always entered in work days. The queue time of a work center can be configured to 0,5. The start period of the operation is then planned to the day after the finish date of the previous operation. The lead time for an operation is calculated as:

L = Queue time + Setup time + Quantity X Unit time

The queue time is the most important system information under the heading Loading information for a work center. If you do not enter a queue time, the lead time will probably be shorter than in reality, which means that your loading and material requirements will not be displayed in the right time period.

For structure orders the queue time also affects which finish time the incorporated parts in a structure order will have. For subcontracts, the queue time constitutes the entire lead time for the operation. The other loading info does not affect this type of operations.
