Capacity Factors in Calendars
The Capacity factor is a value that is entered per day. There is a field for each day of the month. The default capacity factor is 1 on weekdays (black) and 0 on weekends and holidays (red).
Capacity factors in the Calendars.
The capacity factor has two significant purposes in the Work center calendar, but only one in the Company calendar.
- In the Company calendar, the capacity factor describes whether the staff is "working/not working" or "working half day". The values are 1 for "working", 0 for "not working", or 0,5 for "working half day". Please Note! The system will also accept values > 1 for the Company calendar, but they should generally not be used.
- In the Work center calendar the factor has the same meaning as in the Company calendar, that is to define whole/half work days and holidays/weekends. Furthermore, the capacity factor describes the capacity in calendar time. Any value < 1 means that it is not a full or complete work day. This factor will then affect the lead time calculation during manufacturing order registration, as well as the capacity in the loading plan. Any value > 1 means that it is more than a full or complete work day. This factor will then affect only the capacity in the loading plan.
To obtain the capacity in the loading plan, you multiply Basic time with the number of Shifts and the Capacity factor from the work center register, as well as any other factors that were entered in the calendar.
