Time Calculation

The Time Calculation is a Supplement to MONITOR. Time Calculation is integrated into the Preparation procedure, allowing you to directly calculate setup times and unit times in the operation list. You can also update existing preparations. In the operation list, you can access the Time Calculation feature in the columns Setup time or Unit time by using the F3 key or by selecting Time Calculation in the Info menu if you right-click.

In the Time Calculation feature, you can apply both a "detailed preparation" and a "summarized preparation". During summarized preparations you configure incorporated parts as a position to a main part number. Setup and unit times can be calculated per operation number, position and as a total using the Time Calculation feature. When you save the calculation, these times are automatically entered as a total per operation number.

An operation can consist of one or more processes. There is a calculation basis for each process in the Time Calculation. For each calculation basis you will find a number of variables that must be entered. You can purchase the calculation basis separately for your system.

You can also use different levels for calculation bases, which can be used for the same process. A level means how detailed each basis is, how many variables that are included. Factors that affect the choice of level are the user's purpose, the type of product, the size of the series or the lot, etc. The level to be used will be determined in consultation with an instructor or consultant at Monitor ERP System AB prior to the installation.

You can also use Time Calculation as an independent procedure. In this case, you can only save time calculations for parts. If you want to use it independently, you can access it via the Procedure menu in the Manufacturing module, under Time Calculation.
