Cost Factor Exceptions

If the setting Use Cost factor exceptions? is configured, under the Work centers heading that you will find under the Manufacturing tab in the Settings procedure, the Cost factor exception (C-fact. except.) column is shown. Then you can also select a cost factor for the operation. You can select the regular cost factor or one of the two cost factor exceptions that can be registered in the Update Work Center procedure.

If you use staffing factor exceptions on operations, which is activated by the setting Use staffing factor exceptions on operations? under Preparation under the Manufacturing tab in the Settings procedure, the fields Cost factor exception and Staffing factor will be highlighted in yellow when a cost factor exception is selected. Nothing will be highlighted in yellow if you also select a staffing factor exception. The purpose of the fields highlighted in yellow is to indicate that two selections are to be performed to affect both the calculation and loading. The cost factor exception is often selected without any selection of a staffing factor exception. That is determined case by case.
