The Part Import Window

In the upper portion of the window, in the Type field, you select if you want to import parts or a BOM list from text file. In the Name field you can select a previously saved template used when importing text files. In the File field you select the text file you want to import.

You can select Part type for the imported parts if this information is missing in the file (the part type is entered using the digits 1-4 or 6 in the file). You can also set a status for the imported files.

By using the button Configure field you can select the fields to be imported and their relative order in the file. This is made to load data to the correct field according to the order of the columns in the text file. The settings can be saved for further imports.

Under Format settings you can select decimal separator in numerical fields, the number of heading rows and column separator in the text file.

By using the button Import, the text file is loaded and the result is presented in the lower portion of the window. You can re-load the file by using the Import button if, for example, the fields were incorrectly placed or if you selected the wrong column separator.

In the lower portion of the window you check that the loading of the file was made correctly. In the list you select the rows that should be saved to new parts in MONITOR. By using the box at the top you can check all rows. If the part number already exists in MONITOR's database, this part number will be highlighted in red in the list.

By using the Save button, under Window functions or under File in the Window menu, the selected rows will be saved to new parts in MONITOR and a message appears informing you that the import succeeded.
