Outline
Under the Stock Location System heading in the Inventory module, you will find procedures used to configure and maintain your stock location register. The Stock Location System is a supplement to MONITOR.
The Stock Location System can assist you by providing the following:
- An overview of the total number of available stock locations.
- An overview of vacant and occupied stock locations.
- An inventory analysis that shows the number of stock locations that are required. This is made in the Inventory Analysis procedure.
- Vacant locations are suggested for arrivals when you receive arrivals to stock. (To find the most appropriate vacant location for a particular part, you create different storage rules that are then tied to the part).
Certain reportings to stock are changed when using the Stock Location System, read more under Reporting to Stock.
Parts without a location type are managed outside the Stock Location System.
Below you will find a brief description of all the procedures that can be found under the Stock Location System in the Inventory module.
