In this procedure, the work flow begins by first entering your selection of parts, and selecting price alternatives for P-parts, M-parts and S-parts. The standard price is applied by default. You should also select the distribution of the volume value in %, distribution of the part quantity in % or distribution of the limit, unless you only want to calculate the volume value per part (then you do not need to select a distribution method).
None - Only Volume Value
First select the alternative None - only volume value under ABC code calculation.
Click on the Display List button directly in the Window functions. The program loads the list and shows the current volume value per part. At this point, there is no distribution or total per ABC code. No new ABC codes are suggested either.
Distribute Volume Value in %
First select the alternative Distribute volume value in % under ABC code calculation. You can then preset the distribution of costs under the ABC codes button. A box will appear with a column at the far right where you can enter the distribution.
Otherwise you click on the Display List button directly in the Window functions. The program loads the list and shows the current volume value distributed in % (also read the section under Viewing the Current Distribution per ABC Code below.) The program has now also suggested new ABC codes for the parts.
Then click on the Calculate button under the Window functions. After that you enter the distribution in the same box that opens if you click on the button, as mentioned above. The calculation will then start once you click OK in that box. The list will present the results - or the "is" value - with the new distribution of the volume value in %.
You can also manually change the ABC codes for these parts. This is mainly done for those parts whose values are very close to a distribution limit. This way you can adjust and experiment with the results.
Distribute Part Quantity in %
First select the alternative Distribute part quantity in % under ABC code calculation. You can then preset the distribution of costs under the ABC codes button. A box will appear with a column at the far right where you can enter the distribution.
Otherwise you click on the Display List button directly in the Window functions. The program loads the list and shows the current volume value distributed for the part quantity in % (also read the section under Viewing the Current Distribution per ABC Code below. The program has now also suggested new ABC codes for the parts.
Then click on the Calculate button under the Window functions. After that you enter the distribution in the same box that opens if you click on the button, as mentioned above. The calculation will then start once you click OK in that box. The list will present the results - or the "is" value - with the new distribution of the part quantity in %.
You can also manually change the ABC codes for these parts. This is mainly done for those parts whose values are very close to a distribution limit. This way you can adjust and experiment with the results.
Distribute Limit
First select the alternative Distribute limit under ABC code calculation. You can then preset the distribution of costs under the ABC codes button. A box will appear with a column at the far right where you can enter the distribution.
Otherwise you click on the Display List button directly in the Window functions. The program loads the list and shows the current volume value distributed according to defined limits (also read the section under Viewing the Current Distribution per ABC Code below.) The program has now also suggested new ABC codes for the parts.
Viewing the Current Distribution per ABC Code
The previously entered distributions of the volume value are not saved if you re-start the procedure, since those saved values would quickly become obsolete. The volume value should be considered as a "present value" or current value. In order to see the current distribution of the volume value per ABC code according to the part register, you must load the list using the setting Show total / ABC code. After that, no calculation is made, the list is just sorted using one of the columns ABC code or New ABC code.
If the list is very long, you can use the Show total option in the Info menu if you right-click in the list. That will only show the total volume value and distribution for each ABC code.
