Re-do with New Period
Using the Run button under the Window functions, you can run a complete recalculation. The button will be renamed after the first simulation (when the Check Delivery Times tab is activated) to Re-do with new period. As the name indicates, the calculation is now based on the New period instead of the initial period entered under the Create tab.
The reason to recalculate with the New period as a basis, is to see if there are any changes when it comes to the material after the reservations have been rescheduled. The difference from Confirm is that Re-do with new period also makes a complete requirement calculation for material with new reservation times.
Confirm
If you use the Confirm button, the loading and material reservations will be replanned based on the New period. The Period on the part row under the Own tab, will be updated with the new period for the position. If you open the CDT from the customer order row or the manufacturing order row, the delivery and finish period will be updated for that particular order row.
The reason to Confirm is that the loading and material reservations shall be correct in time. Another reason is to update the New period on order rows, if the CDT is opened from the order registration procedures.
Confirm will also recalculate, as the Re-check op., before the period is updated on the order row. Furthermore, Confirm leaves the Check Delivery Times tab and goes back to its basic mode under the Create tab.
To reschedule the reservations and/or include the new period in the order rows, always exit the CDT by using Confirm.
In order to make it clear for the user from where the CDT is opened from, the S symbol will be shown when the procedure is opened from the customer order row. If the procedure is opened from the manufacturing order row, the M symbol will be shown. And if the CDT is opened from the Procedure menu, a green check mark will be shown.
Re-check Operation
If you use the Re-check op. button, a check is made to control if there may be loading problems for another work center according to the new delivery period. A recalculation will now be made to find the most suitable available capacity, but now the calculation is based on the new delivery period instead of the initial delivery period.
The purpose of using the Re-check Operation option, is to see if there is any loading at the new delivery period (later on) for any other work center than the main one. This may occur if the loading plan for another work center varies with free time and loaded time.
The Del. period is greyed out in the list after the recalculation, since that period is no longer current. If you place the cursor over the New finish, you will see a yellow info box that shows the new period on which calculation is based.
The Re-check operation will set the maximization to the highest level and now material will be shown (not necessary).
The purpose of the recalculation is to have zero (0) in Diff on the positions! In other words, no delays.
