In the upper part of the Create tab you perform selections of the list by using the different selection alternatives.
Further down in the create tab there are groups of settings under the Show... and Order status headings where you can make different selections regarding the WIP list.
The default settings are those that are normally used, or that are recommended unless you want to use alternate calculation bases.
