What Does This Procedure Do?
In the Register Basic Data window, you register basic data for the locations.
Storage Type
When registering basic data, you register the storage types that exist. There are different storage types such as Pallet rack (for different pallet types), Shelf rack (for boxes, cartons, etc.), Branch rack (for long goods such as bars and rods) and so on.
Coordinates
For each storage type, you must create a set of coordinates, such as: House, Zone, Aisle, Section and Level. For each coordinate, you must enter a format that constitute the actual name of the stock location. For example: A-18-10-01 could describe the location in House A or Zone A, Aisle 18, Section 10 and Level 01. You can enter a maximum of 6 coordinates for a storage type. (MONITOR comes with a template to make it easier to understand. The template has the storage type PR.)
Location Types
After that, you create different location types that describe the individual stock locations, such as P1 for Pallet with one collar, P2 for pallet with two collars, etc.
