What Does This Procedure Do?
In this procedure you can activate accrual accounting and thereby update the general ledger. Accrual accounting is registered in the Accrual Accounting procedure.
Accrual accounting is a "standing accounting order" that distributes an amount over a selected number of periods, e.g. prepaid rent that shall be charged each month.
It is not possible to release an accrual accounting several times for the same period since the current accrual accounting is always reset after an update.
When switching to a new accounting period, a warning appears if the accrual accounting has not been released.
In connection to the release, you have the opportunity to print an accounting order. For each accrual accounting an accounting order is created.
If a number of items shall be released at the same time, you can create one single accounting order for all the accrual accounting instead of creating one accounting order per item.
Before the accrual accounting is released you have the option to change the amount that shall be released for each accrual accounting directly in the list. This can prove useful when e.g. a supplier invoice concerning interest has been registered as accrual accounting but the amount differs for each month.
