Managing Lists in the System

MONITOR contains many procedures in which you can load data from the database and present it in different lists or reports. That is why the interface and work methods used in MONITOR are similar in those procedures. This makes it easier for the user to create the lists/reports since you will recognize the way of working from one procedure to another. You can create lists/reports on your screen and then print them.

The procedures usually have three different tabs; Create, Display List and Preview. In certain procedures there are additional tabs. Read more about this under the Additional tabs section.

The three tabs; Create, Display List and Preview.

There are two main purposes with lists/reports in MONITOR:

  1. One purpose is printouts.
  2. The other purpose is to update data for different records in the database.

Reports are only intended for printouts. They consist of complex data in several levels, so called "nested reports". Nested reports are characterized by a Closedwarning message being displayed when ordering the report, saying that it can take some time to load the report. Lists that are used to update data are in certain cases not intended for printing. These lists might contain columns that are not included in the printed version of the list. Printouts of lists are made to fit an A4 paper in portrait format.
