For a part that you intend to deliver, you enter the number or quantity that is included in the inner packaging in the field called "Qty / pkge." (see the first image in the Update Part procedure section). According to that image and the packing instruction (see the first image under the Preparation procedure section), there will be 2 parts in each "Smallbox red" and 4 pieces of "Smallbox red" in "PALLML". The "PALLML" in turn contains a structure (see the second image in the Preparation Procedure).
The pick list will therefore display "Smallbox red", "pallet EUR", "spacer" and "cover", with the calculated quantity based on the part quantity that is going to be delivered. The weights for parts and packaging will also be added.
The pick list usually displays 5 different outer packaging, as well as a column for Other packaging. If only one "Other" packaging exists for that customer and that dock/storeroom, then it will be displayed with its original correct name or alternatively its package type.
The pick list displays packaging on the first part on each pick list, and then fills in the packaging columns until they have all been filled in. In other words, if a customer has mixed parts with different packaging on the same order, the pick list will provide insufficient information about how the parts should be packed. Nevertheless, the balance is correctly calculated, as well as the weight and package quantity calculations. When using Odette orders, only one part per order number is used, and they usually only include 3-4 packaging at the most.
If you want to be able to conveniently manage packaging on a regular customer order, you can take a part that contains a registered packaging structure and add it to the order. The packaging part's structure contains a number of underlying packaging parts. The packaging columns will therefore be printed on the pick list and can be edited. This will also provide a basis for the stock update, invoicing and waybill functions.
