General Information about Packaging Management

In MONITOR you can manage packaging as an extra part type, the part type G (G = Packaging). This is activated under the Packaging heading under the System tab in the Settings procedure. This will give you the opportunity to manage packaging parts, such as a Pallet, Inner packaging, Collar, Spacer and Lid. You can then configure packaging for customer orders in two ways:

You can create structures of packaging parts in the Preparation procedure if alternative 1 is used, and there you must enter part type G. In the material list used in the Preparation, you must enter the underlying packaging parts in a structured packaging part. When using alternative 2, you do not have to create packaging structures in the Preparation procedure.

A part that is delivered to customers is linked to the packaging part in the Update Part procedure under the Sales tab and the smaller tab Shipping info.

You can use the stock update feature for packaging parts, and they can also be invoiced. It can also be used with the shipping and EDI functions. Furthermore, you can connect different types of packages to a packaging part, in order to automatically manage packages and weights used for waybills. However, you cannot link a packaging part to a type of goods.

It is possible to manage and to some extent also edit packages in the Package Management procedure in the Sales module.
