How Do Terms Affect Pre-Calculations?

When you calculate a pre-calculation in MONITOR, it will take the terms that you configure during the Preparation into account. On the part row under the Create tab, the standard term shown is Quantity. If you allow alternate preparations by checking the setting Use alternate preparations?, under Preparation under the Manufacturing tab in the Settings procedure, you can also show the remaining terms: Alternate preparation code, Revision, Customer code, Order and Period in pre-calculations.

The calculation will be calculated according to the terms that have been entered under the Create tab. The terms that have been entered throughout the entire structure will be applied to the fields Customer code and Order. In other words, there will be no breakdown of these two terms for the underlying levels in the structure.

Please note. Even though revisions and terms are not displayed under the Create tab, the calculation will still apply the terms set in a preparation, under certain circumstances: 1 - If there is a current revision for the part, it will be the default for the Revision term and will be applied. 2 - Today’s date is the default, unless another date has been entered in the term Period. You can check this by selecting to Show terms on the part row.
