What Does This Procedure Do?
In the Update Tool Group procedure you can create an optional number of tool groups with default properties or profiles for the different tool types used in MONITOR. This procedure supports most of the tool types that are used in the manufacturing industry. The system also allows you to use tool structures.
You can enter several tool groups per tool type, in order to vary the tool's properties. The properties you can give a tool here are: tool type, whether the tool contains entities or not, unit, tool code, product group, adjustment/calibration product group, EOQ (economic order quantity) and ROP (reorder point), number of pieces, calibration location or supplier link for calibration, calibration interval, number of cycles, instructions and calibration points.
You can then go to the tool register to link tools to a tool group and include these properties. You can then complement the tools by adding for example calibration or purchasing information. For measuring tools, you can also use the color coding system according to the prevailing industry standards.
Window Functions
If you Save an existing tool group, a control question appears asking whether you want the standard values for this tool group to be transferred to all the tools in this group or not, or only to the tools with the same standard values per tool group. (See image)
