Enter the setup time in the selected time unit. The setup time is the operation time that is not dependent on the quantity. If the setup time and unit time is zero, you will receive a warning that the times are missing during calculations and order registration. If the times should be zero, enter a low value like 0.000001.
If you have installed the supplementary function Time Calculation in your system, you can also calculate exact setup times and unit times for each operation. You can open Time Calculation here using F3, or via the Info menu if you right-click in the window. Read more under Time Calculation.
You can configure a default setup time (setup cost regarding subcontracts) on work centers in the Update Work Center procedure. If there is an entered setup time, you will here see the setup time when the work center was selected on a new operation row. However, you can enter another setup time (setup cost) than the default one.
Subcontracts
For subcontracts, this column will be highlighted in red. If the selected work center is a subcontracting work center, this is where you enter the setup cost for the subcontract, if any. You can use this column instead of the column Unit time to enter subcontracting cost that are more difficult to enter per piece, for example surface treatment of small details or such that usually are managed bundle wise. In the column to the right of the Unit time you can select currency for the subcontracting cost.
