Calculate
This is where you choose the alternatives you want to calculate. None of the options are selected by default. Select from the following:
- Reorder point - is the consumption during the lead time + safety stock.
- Safety stock - is supposed to prevent any shortages occurring in stock, and thereby protect the manufacturing process from any uncertainties in consumption or lead time.
- Safety time - the safety time is usually not calculated. Safety time shows the safety stock in time units instead of quantity. However, you can calculate safety times if you select an advanced formula in the Planning Formulas procedure (can be used during Run Netting). You cannot calculate the safety time using standard planning formulas.
