Order Types
Under Order types you select whether the requirement calculation should apply previous actual orders, actual reservations, suggested orders, suggested reservations, service order, sales forecasts, simulations, CDT, quote back log or blanket order - sales. By default, both actual orders, actual reservations, service order and CDT are selected. The available alternatives are:
- Actual orders - (default) the requirement calculation takes "actual" purchase or manufacturing orders that have been registered into consideration.
- Actual reservations - (default) the requirement calculation takes "actual" customer or manufacturing orders that have been registered into consideration.
- Suggested orders – the requirement calculation also takes existing order suggestions that were generated by previous requirement calculations into consideration. This will avoid generating duplicate suggestions by either the manufacturing order suggestions or purchase order suggestions. If there are prior suggestions, the system will first check if any new shortages can be covered by these, before generating a new suggestion.
- Suggested reservations – the requirement calculation also takes existing reservation suggestions that were generated by Netting runs. This alternative is only used if you have previously run a Netting run, and the order suggestions from that Netting run have not yet been generated into orders.
- Service order - (default) the requirement calculation also takes reservations from service orders that have been registered into consideration.
- Sales forecasts – the requirement calculation also takes sales forecasts created in the Register Sales Forecast procedure, or customer order rows registered as forecasts (row status >1) into consideration. Any adjustment versus placed orders is done according to previous section in this chapter.
- Simulations - the requirement calculation also takes active or current simulations suggestions created in the Requirement Simulation procedure into consideration. A dialog box opens, allowing you to select which active or current simulations you want to include. This alternative allows you to combine parts that have simulated orders and other parts that have actual orders, for example. This as opposed to running a requirement calculation from the Requirement Simulation procedure, which would only use parts that have both simulations and actual orders.
- CDT - (default) the requirement calculation also takes reservations that were created in the Check Delivery Times procedure into consideration.
- Quote backlog - the requirement calculation also takes all quotes in the quote backlog selected to be included during simulation / requirements planning into consideration.
- Blanket order - Sales - this alternative is available if you have activated the setting Activate blanket order, under Orders / Quotes under the Sales tab in the Settings procedure. If you select this alternative, blanket orders will also be included in the requirement calculation. Deselect this alternative if you do not want to include blanket orders in the requirement calculation, this may also apply if they are registered as sales forecasts. A sales forecast distributes the requirement in time and quantity, which does not apply to blanket orders.
- Parts affected by simulation - this alternative appears if you check Simulations. By using this option, the requirement calculation only includes the parts that are affected by the selected simulations.
- Parts affected by quote backlog - this alternative appears if you check Quote backlog. By using this option, the requirement calculation only includes the parts that are affected by the selected quotes.
