Part Status

In this section, you will find settings that apply to part status. The part status is intended to show the part's position in a product's life-cycle.

Default part status for new parts

Here you can select by four (4) status options what will be set by default when a new part is registered. The available alternatives are:

Change part status 2 to 3 when creating new M- and P-orders?

This setting determines that parts with status 2 are changed into status 3 when the first order is registered for such a part.

Change part status 3 to 4 when creating new M- and P-orders?

This setting determines that parts with status 3 are changed into status 4 when the first order is registered for such a part.

Change part status 5 to 4 when creating new M- and P-orders?

This setting determines that parts with status 5 are changed into status 4 when the first order is registered for such a part.

Change part status to 5 during new current revision on part?

By configuring this setting you can activate a function that automatically sets the part status to 5 (New revision) when the part is given a new revision. This setting is selected by default.

Include part status in new M-orders?

This setting determines whether or not the part status shall be saved on manufacturing orders. The part status will then also be printed on manufacturing order documents. The manufacturing order documents will be marked with a text (below the order header) which describes the status of the part that is being ordered. This only apply to status 2 (Prototype), 3 (New part) and 5 (New revision). The texts that the order should be marked with can be updated on rows 406-408 in the Languages procedure.

Show revision comment on M-order when the part status is 5

If you configure this setting, the part's revision comment will be included in the manufacturing order documents when the part status is 5 (New revision). This way you can describe the change between the previous and the new revision on the manufacturing order documents. The setting is activated by default.

The comment text will be printed on the document in connection to the part status text that describes that a part has a new revision (see the previous setting). Before the comment text, a static text will be printed "Comment to revision". The static text can be modified, if needed, on row 587 in the Languages procedure.

If this setting shall be activated, the previous setting called Include part status in new M-orders shall also be activated in those cases when the part status is 5 (New revision). Furthermore, the setting Print revision in the Manufacturing Order Documents procedure, must be set to "Only revision" or "Both revision and document".

Please note that if standard forms are used, the forms must be generated in the Manufacturing Order Documents procedure after this setting has been activated or deactivated.

Include part status as text row info in new P-orders?

This setting determines whether or not a purchase order should have a text row which displays the status of the part that is being ordered. This only apply to status 2 (Prototype), 3 (New part) and 5 (New revision). The texts that the order should be marked with can be updated on rows 406-408 in the Languages procedure.

Show revision comment on P-order when the part status is 5

By activating this setting, the part's revision comment will be included in the purchase order when the part status is 5 (new revision). This is useful to easily inform about the change between the previous and the new revision. The setting is activated by default.
