You are here: Global Settings > Tables > Planning Formulas > Variables

Variables

In the Variables window you can enter values for all variables and make test calculations for the selected formula. To the left you will see the variable's expression in a formula. To the right you will see an explanation to each variable expression.

The part data fields allow you to manage the range of parts in the formulas, by using certain terms and conditions. For this, you need the supplement Edit Planning Formulas or have the formulas edited by a Monitor instructor/consultant or the Support Center at Monitor ERP System AB.

ClosedTest Calculations of Formulas

At the bottom of the Variables window you will find a test calculation box. By using the Calculation button you can make test calculations of the selected formula in the procedure, based on different variable values.

You can quickly change the values in the Variables window and then make calculations here in order to study the result of a formula and its variable data. The result appears to the right of the Calculation button.

Please Note! It is also important to make test calculations in the procedures where this formula will be used in order to see if the result is reasonable.

ClosedManaging Range of Parts

If you have installed the supplement Edit Planning Formulas or if the formulas have been edited by an instructor/consultant or the Support Center at Monitor ERP System AB, you can use the fields in the lower portion of the Variables window to manage range of parts in the formulas. The range of parts will then be managed using conditions ("if-clauses") that are added to the affected formulas for the specified fields.
