Lead Time Chart

The Lead time chart is a graphic diagram where horizontal bars show the lead times along a time axis (time between the start and finish periods) for orders and incorporated M-parts, operations and material (see the Gantt chart). You can perform a replanning either by using drag and drop to move the bars in the diagram to new periods or by right-clicking on a bar and using the Info Menu to select Show info and enter the period manually.

The Information in the Left Portion of the Window

In the left portion of the window you can see the order, part, operation and work center number each bar represents. If you place the cursor over a part, operation or work center number, the corresponding name will be shown to the right in a so-called tooltip.

Order, part and operation information.

Time Axis

At the bottom of the window, you will see a time axis that can be changed to display day, week or month. If you place the cursor over a period, the current date will be shown to the right in a so-called tooltip.

On current date, a vertical dotted line will appear with current date above it. That means that there should really not be anything "unfinished" to the left of this line, as this would signify "lag". This will also be reported as lag in the loading plan.

The Powerful Lead Time Chart

What makes the lead time chart so powerful is first and foremost the possibility to replan an existing operation. Read more about this method of replanning under Replanning Using the Lead Time Chart. Further, you can view additional information about orders, parts or operations by right-clicking on a bar and using the Info Menu to select Show info.
