You will find a general description of how to manage lists in MONITOR in the chapter Managing Lists in the System under General in the MONITOR Basics guide.
What Does This Procedure Do?
This procedure is mainly used if you use Stock Refill System (SRS) in MONITOR. Under the Create tab you can load a list in order used to prepare and save an annual budget for parts within an assortment of parts. Under printout samples, you can see explanations for the list.
The annual budget is calculated in periods, such as every month, and after that you should calculate a new annual volume using the Estimate Annual Volume procedure.
The annual budget that you calculate for these parts is equal to the annual sales quantity of the parts in your line of sales products. The result that is obtained for the annual budget reflects the turnover rate, which has been converted into a daily usage rate ("daily pace"), for the time in question. This result is saved on the parts.
You can calculate this with the assistance of different forecasting methods, such as prior sales (using a sliding average) or "exponential smoothing". You can also take seasonal fluctuations into consideration.
The calculation basis used for exponential smoothing applies the formulas and variables in the first section in the Planning Formulas procedure in the Global Settings module. There you can enter multiple formulas used to prepare and calculate the annual budget.
What Update Options Exist for this Procedure?
The list allows you to either manually enter a new annual budget for these parts, or apply a calculation method. When you run (start) the calculation, the system will calculate the new annual budget for the selected parts. Once it has been calculated, you can save the new value on the parts.
Under the Create tab, you can also select the calculation method for the parts, so that it will be re-used during the next calculation.
