Work Flow Using Order Suggestions
A common way of applying requirement calculations to structure parts is to have the system generate order suggestions for all shortage parts. The alternatives Order suggestions, Parts with shortage or Parts with definite shortage are selected under Show.... The alternative Detailed is selected under Level under the Create tab.
- First a requirement calculation is run for all the M-parts, S-parts and F-parts using Display List.
- If manufacturing order suggestions appear in the list, they must be checked and then generated using Save.
- After that the manufacturing orders are generated from the order suggestions in the Manufacturing Order Suggestion procedure to cover all shortages (also called releasing manufacturing orders). If rescheduling suggestions appear in the list, the manufacturing order that has a rescheduling suggestion should be replanned, either by right-clicking in the list to open the Info menu and selecting Replan order..., or in the Rescheduling Suggestion - In or Rescheduling Analysis procedures.
- After that, a requirement calculation is re-started for the same parts, to check to see if any suggestions remain. These steps should be repeated until the list no longer shows any suggestions.
- Finally, you run a requirement calculation for all P-parts.
- If purchase order suggestions appear in the list, they must be checked and then generated using Save.
- After that the purchase orders are generated from the order suggestions in the Purchase Order Suggestion procedure to cover all shortages (also called releasing purchase orders). If rescheduling suggestions appear in the list, the purchase order that has a rescheduling suggestion should be replanned, either by right-clicking in the list to open the Info menu and selecting Replan order..., or by opening the Rescheduling Suggestion - In procedure.
The work flow during requirement calculation takes place using the flow chart below:
The procedures Run Netting Manufacturing Forecast and Run Netting automate the requirement calculation, including generating order suggestions.
