General Information about Rescheduling Suggestion - In

Why Use This Procedure?

In the Rescheduling Suggestion - In procedure, you can load a list of parts that have registered manufacturing orders and purchase orders, for which rescheduling suggestions have been generated during requirements planning in the Requirement Calculation, Run Netting or Run Netting Manufacturing Forecast procedures.

Under the Create tab, you can select parts. You will also find options regarding replanning and which order types should be shown in the list.

In this list, you can check - row by row - which orders you want to reschedule or replan using a new finish period or delivery period, respectively. You can re-sort the list per the number of rescheduled days, to make it easier to see which orders you should focus on. In the list, you can execute the replanning of all the manufacturing orders and purchase orders using the rescheduling suggestions. Under printout samples, you can see a sample of the list.

What Is a Rescheduling Suggestion?

Rescheduling suggestions are generated when the system, instead of generating a new order suggestion to cover a shortage, has discovered that you can cover this shortage by rescheduling the finish period for an existing manufacturing order, or the delivery period for an existing purchase order.

There is a corresponding procedure called Rescheduling Analysis that shows which orders that can be rescheduled to cover requirements arising later on. However, the main purpose of the procedure is to find manufacturing and purchase orders, that for example are leftovers from deleted customer orders, with a difference of "9999" days until requirement (which means that the requirement is way ahead in time). These orders can then be controlled and deleted, if needed.

Conditions for Rescheduling Suggestions

Below you will find a list of the conditions that are required, in order for the system to be able to generate rescheduling suggestions.

• An order must have a sufficient ordered quantity to cover the shortage, otherwise no rescheduling suggestion will be placed: a new order suggestion will be created instead. The system checks whether an existing order has the sufficient quantity by using a time horizon called days of grace or "grace period".
• The grace period is different for different parts. For parts with lot sizing rule P (Period requirement), the grace period is equal to the number of days.
• For parts with lot sizing rule F (Fixed quantity), the grace period is usually set using the setting General grace period (creates time shortage instead of material shortage), under Requirements planning under the Inventory tab in the Settings procedure, but can also be set individually per part under the Planning tab in the Update Part procedure.
• For parts with lot sizing rule L (Lot-for-lot), the grace period can be configured per part as mentioned above.
• In order to generate rescheduling suggestions in the Requirement Calculation procedure, you must check the setting Order suggestions under Show... under the Create tab of that procedure. In the procedures Run Netting and Run Netting Manufacturing Forecast respectively, rescheduling suggestions are always generated if the right conditions apply according the to above paragraph.

What Update Options Exist for this Procedure?

Under the To column in the list, you can change the finish / delivery period for the orders shown in the list. These changes will be applied once you replan orders in this procedure. Under the C del. column in the list you can confirm orders as delayed.

The orders that are selected under the Replan column in the list will be replanned.

Can Any Charts Be Displayed?

There are no charts or graphs available in this list.

Window Functions

Use Run to execute the rescheduling of the Finish or Delivery period for the orders with rescheduling suggestions that have been selected for replanning. A control question will appear where you must confirm that you want to reschedule (replan).
