General Information about Opening Balance List

You will find a general description of how to manage lists in MONITOR in the chapter Managing Lists in the System under General in the MONITOR Basics guide.

What Does This Procedure Do?

This procedure is used to print the opening balances for accounts in the Chart of Accounts. The opening balance is automatically loaded to the new year during year-end closing. But it can also be registered manually in the Opening Balance procedure or in this procedure as well.

In addition to printing opening balance at account level, you can also print the opening balance per cost center and cost unit.

The printout also shows a total of all the opening balances per account class.

The opening balances can be updated directly in the Display List mode. It is also possible to open all balance sheet accounts and register the opening balances manually during system startup. However, the balances can only be registered at account level in this procedure.

You can classify and select by Account. The list can be presented based on the list types - Account, Cost center, Cost unit and Project. As an alternative, you can display the amounts in thousands. You can also choose to include all balance sheet accounts.

What Update Options Exist for this Procedure?

In the list type Account you can update opening balance and quantity.
