In this section you will find settings for the Fixed Asset Register, which is a Supplement to MONITOR.
Basis for scheduled depreciation
Here you select which documents should form the basis for the calculations of the scheduled depreciation for fixed assets.
Depreciation can be based either on the acquisition value of the object, or its residual value. The residual value consists of the difference between the acquisition value and the accumulated depreciation made for the fixed asset. During a new registration, the residual value will always display the same amount as the acquisition value. Please remember that the choice of calculation basis will be generally applied to all the objects in the system.
Starting date for depreciation of new acquisitions
Here you indicate if the depreciation of new acquisitions should start counting from the acquisition date or from the beginning of the fiscal year.
Basis for Calculated Depreciation, not depreciated in full
Here you select which documents should form the basis for the calculations of the calculated depreciation for fixed assets. This setting applies to objects that have a residual value left in the fixed asset register.
Basis for Calculated Depreciation, depreciated in full
Here you select which documents should form the basis for the calculations of the calculated depreciation for fixed assets. This setting apply to objects that do not have a residual value in the fixed asset register, that is, fully depreciated objects.
Basis for Calculated Depreciation (%), not depreciated in full
Here you enter (in %) how large portion of the depreciation basis that should be the basis for the calculated depreciations for objects with residual value. For example, if you want to base the depreciation on the entire replacement value, you should enter 100 in this field. There is also a corresponding setting for fully depreciated objects.
Basis for Calculated Depreciation (%), depreciated in full
Here you enter (in %) how large portion of the depreciation basis that should be the basis for the calculated depreciations for objects that are fully depreciated. For example, if you want to base the depreciation on only half of the replacement value, you should enter 50 in this field. There is also a corresponding setting for not fully depreciated objects.
Use category management for fixed assets category?
If you check this setting you can display category explanation windows with multiple selection options in the Category field in the Register Fixed Asset procedure.
The selection terms are created in the Category Management procedure under Tables in the Global Settings module. The category setting for fixed assets also determines the amount of help that will be available in the Search Form for the lists where you can select by category. The setting is activated by default.
If this setting is not activated you can enter fixed assets categories as additional text. You can then enter a maximum of 15 characters. By using the button next to the category field, you will find instructions of how to enter categories. These instructions are entered in the Categories procedure under Tables in the Global Settings module.
