In the Card code field you enter a number of characters that are linked to the employee, and which can be used for recording instead of the employee number. Enter the code using the keyboard, or place the cursor in the field and pull a magnetic card through a card reader, if you have one. Once the code has been entered, the number of * symbols in the field go back to five symbols.
You can configure a setting under the Workshop Info tab in the Settings procedure in the Global Settings module or in the Terminal Settings procedure so that recording can only be performed using the card code. In that case, the employee number can no longer be used to enter the recording terminal. The advantage of using this system is increased security. By limiting access, you prevent other employees from recording for someone else using their employee number. It also prevents employees from accessing information about someone else via the recording terminal.
