Schedule Principles

In order to always be able to compare recording to a schedule, there must be a schedule for every point in time during every day/night of the year, that indicates whether that point in time is considered working hours and if so, which salary type applies. The solution is as follows:

A schedule can be one of three different types: Day schedule, Night schedule or Overtime schedule. Both day schedules and night schedules are used as work schedules, the difference is that a night schedule contains working hours that can extend over the hour of midnight into the next day. So in principle, only two schedule types are actually used: Work schedules and Overtime schedules.

A work schedule defines working hours + salary types, breaks and flex zones, for all the days of a working week (including the weekend, from Monday to Sunday). Each day can be defined separately, if it has different circumstances. (Please note that a night schedule applies from Sunday night to Sunday morning). This means that, in theory, a schedule can in itself consist of seven different schedules. However, you cannot mix the schedule types day and night schedule during a week using one single schedule.

By using so-called "day types", you can create separate schedules for each individual day of the week. In this case, the same schedule will apply for Monday - Thursday. A separate schedule is created for Friday and the weekend has no working hours.

An overtime schedule defines which salary types that apply for overtime recording during different times of the day for all the days of a working week including the weekend, from Monday to Sunday. As opposed to a work schedule, an overtime schedule is always defined from 00:00 to 00:00. Here you can also define each day separately regarding salary types, if the days are different. You can enter salary types separately for paid overtime and overtime comp, and you can also enter a scale factor for comp time.

You link an overtime schedule to each work schedule, and together they will cover all 24 hours of the day. As long as recording takes placing during working hours according to the work schedule, the overtime schedule has no function. The work schedule applies in first place, but as soon as any recording takes place outside of the regular working hours, the underlying overtime schedule is applied.
For non-working days where there is no work schedule, only the overtime schedule is used.
