General Information about Generate Location Name

What Does This Procedure Do?

Under the Create tab in this procedure you create location names based on coordinates (start value, quantity and separator) entered in a matrix. After the generation you can see and edit the location names that have been created before they are saved. See a printout sample of the list.

If you use the setting Validate location, under Location under the Inventory tab in the Settings procedure, you can also validate entered locations for transactions that result in transfer to stock, against the location names generated in this procedure. This is done in order to avoid placing parts in invalid locations.

Please Note! However, the function to validate locations can not be used together with the supplement called Stock Location System.

What Update Options Exist for this Procedure?

In the list you can edit and block a location name. By using a setting it is also possible to allow the location name to be used for several different parts. You can also enter a descriptive text, that is, a comment to each generated location name.
