You will find a general description of how to manage lists in MONITOR in the chapter Managing Lists in the System under General in the MONITOR Basics guide.
What Does This Procedure Do?
This procedure is used in order to calculate tax depreciation. The calculation is made according to the financial method, which includes two alternate calculation methods; the general rule and the supplementary rule. A comparison between these methods can be made in order to see what method that gives the lowest residual value allowed of the fixed assets, that is, the highest depreciation allowed.
As calculation basis you have the opportunity to enter the booked value at the start of the tax year. Other bases are loaded from the system. However, these values can be changed, which enables simulations. Data about the assets' acquisition values are registered in the Register Fixed Asset procedure.
According to the 30% rule (the general rule) the residual value is calculated to at least 70% of the total of the opening booked value plus purchase minus the obtained amount at the sales time. In the Create tab you have the opportunity to enter the booked value at the start of the tax year.
According to the 20% rule (the supplementary rule) the lowest residual value is calculated to the acquisition value minus 20% depreciation each of the following holding years. Therefore, the residual value will be a maximum of 80, 60, 40, 20 and 0 % of the acquisition value of the remaining machines and furniture/fixtures, which were acquired during the five latest fiscal years. Calculation basis is automatically loaded by the system but you also have the opportunity to manually enter acquisition amounts for the respective year.
After the calculation you get a printout showing the results of the tax depreciation according to both of the rules.
You can only classify and select by Fixed asset group. It is also possible to display the amounts in thousands.
