In this section, you will find settings that apply to the Supplement called Document Viewing.
Only print the first page of Autocad documents?
To avoid printing an extra empty page when printing AutoCAD documents (drawings) you can activate this setting. This setting only applies when using the supplement Document Viewing by which you can link files, for example link drawings to parts etc.
Show window functions button if instruction exists for procedure?
If this setting is checked (default), an extra button (as shown in images below) will appear under the help button in the Window functions, if there is an existing instruction that was created for the procedure in question. You create and update instructions in the Update Instruction procedure.
A new or changed instruction.
A read instruction. (Will be displayed once the user has logged on again).
Default alternative when linking a document with the same name as the existing
When linking documents (according to the first case described in the setting below) a conflict will arise if a document already exists with the same file name. A question then appears allowing you to select if the new document shall be saved using another file name or if the old document shall be replaced (overwritten). In this setting you determine which of the two alternatives that shall apply by default.
Path to location on the network for external files
Here you enter or select a path to a place on the network to which external files and e-mail messages shall be copied when linking. The path can either be entered as a UNC file path or using a drive letter. This path is used when linking external files in the following cases:
If you have not entered/selected a path, the standard path will be used. The standard path is \Monwin\ExtFiles\ on the database server. However, it is common to save the files linked in the cases above together with other external documents in the regular document paths on a file server instead of on the database server.
Under the path (or the standard path of no path has been entered/selected here) the system will create the folder structure \<ftg_nr>\<YYYY-MM>\ when linking a file unless the folder structure already exists. The <ftg_nr> is the company number. The system will also create a document path <ftg_nr> in the Update Document Path procedure unless the document path already exists.
Example:
The path is entered as \\Filserver1\MONITORfiles. A user then links a document by using "drag and drop" to the Document Viewer button to a record in a procedure in company 002, one day in March 2014. The system then creates the folder structure \002\2014-03\ under the path unless that folder structure already exists. The entire path to the document will be \\Filserver1\MONITORfiles\002\2014-03\. In the Update Document Path procedure the system will create the document path 002 pointing to \\Filserver1\MONITORfiles\002\.
The users who should be able to link files according to the cases described above must have write permissions in the entered/selected path (or standard path) in Windows as well as Full access to the Update Document Path procedure.
Print path and file name on document
Here you decide whether or not the path to the document shall be printed in the header of the printout. This is useful if you want to hide the name of the path due to secrecy reasons.
