General Information about Document Viewer Exception

Why Use This Procedure?

The Document Viewer Exception is a procedure that is included in the supplement called MONITOR Document Viewer. In this window you can enter exceptions for when the built-in Document Viewer in MONITOR should not be used. You can enter exceptions individually per user, or generally for all users. By exception it is meant to use an associated program in Windows or to use a specific program for viewing of documents of a certain file type, instead of using the built-in viewer program.

It may be necessary to create an exception if, for example, a linked drawing is created in a file format that is not supported by the Document Viewer, or if there are some users that must be able to open a linked control instruction directly in Word to enter information.

When you have entered an exception, it will automatically apply immediately in procedures where you can view linked files.

Please Note! If you create an exception for a file type that is not supported by the Document Viewer, then you cannot use the automatic printout of linked files when printing a manufacturing order.

Please see the chapter for the Document Viewer procedure, to see which file formats that are supported by the program.
