Why Use This Procedure?
The Units window is used to register different units that are entered for parts in the Update Part procedure or for services in the Update Services procedure.
If you use external languages, a translation of the units used in this table will be made. The principle for applying external languages in this procedure is that you must first create the table in the original language (for example, in Swedish - S), and then translate it into other languages. All the other languages must first be registered in the Languages procedure.
When an external language has been chosen, the table for the original language will be displayed in the right portion of the window. In this case, you cannot delete or insert rows. The language used as your original language is configured in the Company Info procedure.
Adding and Deleting
The system comes with a number of default units. These default units can be deleted or used, as needed. You cannot insert a text in the middle of a table, only at the end. If a text is deleted, you cannot re-use that same location in the table. The program does not check whether a unit is linked to a part or not when you delete a unit. You can find the name of the unit in the part register. If an existing part has a unit that is later deleted here, a translation of that unit will not be able to be made into another language. The principle is therefore to prepare the table before you start registering parts in the system, and then you can make any changes (insert/delete) as needed.
