General Information about Print Transport Labels

What Does This Procedure Do?

In this procedure you can print different types of transport labels used to label manufactured goods that will be shipped to the subcontractor or that will be arrival reported. You can also print a type of transport label used when storing the goods between operations for manufacturing orders in progress. (As an alternative to the last transport label type you can also use a traveler, where the operations are ticked off when they are reported as finished.)

The printing of transport labels here is based on the reporting made on the manufacturing order. Two reportings affect the stock balance using transport labels according to the above. There are also reportings between operations that do not affect the stock balance. This reporting also uses a transport label. The transport labels used for these reportings are:

The transport label printout in this procedure differs in one way from the corresponding procedures in the Purchase and Sales modules. In those procedures an arrived or delivered quantity must have been reported in order to print transport labels. This procedure load information from the Manufacturing Order Log. This means that if reporting has been made on a manufacturing order you can print transport labels for that order. (If nothing is entered in the Search Form, transport labels will be printed for the entire log.)

Certain layout selections of the transport labels can be made in the Form Settings procedure in the Global Settings. The layout of the transport labels can also be adjusted to your own needs according to the same criteria that apply to other transport labels. You only need to generate the forms the first time, and after any modifications and updates.

You can use three settings, under the heading Orders under the Manufacturing tab in the Settings procedure, to direct-print* the transport labels mentioned above after reporting in the following procedures:

You can choose to print the "quantity per package" on all transport labels. Under the Manufacturing tab in the Update Part - Inventory you will find a field called Quantity / location where you can enter a quantity per location.

There are two different transport label formats: The one called Transport label is printed in an A4 landscape format, while the one called Label is printed in an A5 landscape format (half A4). In all other regards, the transport label and the label are identical, and contain the same information.

You can define a default printer per user for this procedure in the Users procedure. There you should enter the default printer in the Special 2 field.

Managing Windows

The Search Form in this procedure consists of two portions. In the left portion of the window, you can select the printout by entering an interval of order numbers, supplier codes, part numbers or arrival dates and then select Print in the Window functions. If you leave these fields empty, the system will print transport labels for all the orders that have been partially delivered or delivered in full.

You can use the Preliminary selection in the Window functions, to open the right portion of the window. Here you can manually enter the quantity per package, how many copies should be printed, and also uncheck the print box for those orders that you do not want to print transport labels. In this mode, you can also choose to Preview the printout. See a printout sample at the end of the chapter.

Here you can read more about the different methods for printing Order Confirmation Reminders - Subcontract "Preliminary Selection" and "Direct printing via intervals".

* During direct-print (when the procedure is opened after reporting in another procedure) the current information is already entered in the left and right portions of the window.
