About Deleting Salary Types/Codes
The rows in the salary type table are linked to schedules, absence codes, group settings and recording. All the links are made to an ID number that does not appear in the table.
If you delete a row, the system checks to see if the row is linked in any way. This means that you cannot delete a salary type that is included in a recording, schedule, group setting, absence code or salary code. If a salary type is to be deleted, you must then delete all recording items where the salary type in question is included. Another solution is to replace (overwrite) the salary type number with something that will end up at the end of the list. If the salary type should be replaced with a new salary type, you can overwrite the salary type number. Since the link to the ID number remains - all recording, schedules, group settings, absence codes and salary codes will be replaced with the new salary type number.
If you wish to replace the salary type with another existing salary type, you have to go through the following links:
- Is the salary type/code linked to a schedule? Review the schedules that are registered in Update Schedule and switch the salary type for another one.
- Is the salary type/code linked to an absence code? Review the absence codes that are registered under the tab to the left of the Salary type table in Codes and switch the salary type for another one.
- Is the salary type/code linked to group settings? Review the group settings that are registered in the Group Settings procedure and check the field Salary type for makeup work. Change the salary type for another one if there is a link.
- Is the salary type/code linked to recording? Open the Recording List procedure and select a date interval for the recording that you want to review. Select list type Total per salary type. When the list is displayed, double-click in the heading Salary type. The list will then be sorted by salary type number, and you can easily find all the employees that have recorded using a particular salary type. Then select list type Recording and Show salary type distribution in order to find which specific recording is linked to each respective employee.
To "re-link" this recording to the right salary type, you must first have fixed the schedule links. Then adjust each individual recording in the Authorize / Adjust Recording procedure, for example by changing the IN time one minute ahead and then back again, which will compare the recording to the schedule or absence code and change the salary type.
- Any old recording that is no longer relevant regarding salary type links does not have to be reviewed, unless you want to, but it is mainly the recording that has not yet been registered to salaries that is most important to review.
