Machine Recording
In some cases it is inconvenient that each operator is clocked-in for the active operation(s). These are:
- During change of shift - the new shift has to check which operations that were finished during the previous shift and which operations that were started instead.
- During line manufacturing - several operators are continually working with the same operation. When a job is being finished, it may cause some difficulties since only one operator is allowed to enter the approved part quantity.
- For self-propelled machines - an operator does not always have to stand by the machine while it is running. In that case, it may be a disadvantage that the operator is clocked-in for the job.
A solution to the problem is to use "machine recording", which means that the affected machines are registered as employees in the Update Employee procedure. All recording will then be made directly on these employee numbers. Under Recording type, under the Attendance settings tab, the setting Work only must be selected in the abovementioned procedure. The operations are then linked directly to the machines, which will solve the problem above.
Consider:
- To be able to see which operator that has made each report, the setting Enter own employee number during machine recording? has to be activated under Finish work under the Workshop Info tab in the Settings procedure. If the setting is active, it is mandatory to enter the employee number* during all types of operation reporting in the Recording Terminal.
- A schedule must be used if you want to deduct fixed breaks from the recorded time. The machine must also be linked to a so-called 24-hour schedule, that you create in the Update Schedule procedure. The schedule is then linked to the machine as a "fixed schedule", in the Update Employee procedure.
- When using machine recording, it means that when the operator takes a break or stops working, the machine must be stopped or clocked-in on indirect work in order for work to be properly recorded. Otherwise, time will be registered 24 hours a day.
* Please note that it is sufficient to enter the employee number on one row when work is finished on a machine. All other rows in the reporting will copy the employee number entered on the row in question.
