General Information about Accounts Receivable Ledger

You will find a general description of how to manage lists in MONITOR in the chapter Managing Lists in the System under General in the MONITOR Basics guide.

What Does This Procedure Do?

Under the Create tab you can create and print a list from the accounts receivable ledger. The accounts receivable ledger consists of all the accounts receivables (debts due from customers) that have been updated in the system. Accounts receivables are created when printing invoices and interest invoices. It is also possible to create accounts receivables in the Update Accounts Receivable Ledger procedure.

You can choose to include unpaid, paid or all invoices in the printout. Paid invoices are not deleted from the accounts receivable ledger, but remain with a rest amount of zero.

This list compares the balance (residual value) in the accounts payable with the balance in the account in the general ledger. If there is a difference between the accounts payable and the general ledger you have the option to link to a reconciliation function that will reconcile the accounts payable against the general ledger day by day. See the instruction for Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable Account.

If you apply cash discount you will find information about this in lists that concern paid and all invoices. The cash discounts shown in the list are payments where cash discounts have been used on incoming payments of invoices.

However, paid invoices can be purged in a special procedure called Purging Procedures in Global Settings, where you select to purge the Customer order table. You can do this on a regular basis as needed.

You will see a sample of the list under Printout samples.
